MathBuns alpha
Welcome to MathBuns, operated by SIELAY Ltd. (registered in England & Wales). By creating an account or letting your child use MathBuns, you (the parent or guardian) agree to these Terms. If anything's unclear, email hello@mathbuns.com and we'll explain — promise, no lawyers required.
1. Who can use MathBuns
Only adults aged 18+ may sign themselves up. Child profiles are intended for ages 4–13 (Nursery / Reception through Year 7+) and must be created by a parent or legal guardian from the parent dashboard. By creating a child profile you confirm that you have parental responsibility for that child and consent to us processing their practice data on the basis set out in our privacy notice. Children cannot sign themselves up.
2. Parental responsibility
You're the boss of your account. You're responsible for:
- Keeping your password private and not sharing your login.
- Keeping your child's username and PIN safe — and resetting the PIN from the parent dashboard if it's ever lost or shared.
- Supervising your child's use of the app at the level you feel is appropriate.
- Keeping your billing details up to date if you're on the Family plan.
- Letting us know if you think anyone else has accessed your account.
3. Acceptable use
MathBuns is a kind place. Don't use it to upload anything illegal, harmful, hateful, or that infringes someone else's rights. Don't try to break, scrape, reverse-engineer, or otherwise mess with the service. We may suspend accounts that do.
4. Referral programme
Refer a friend with your unique link and we push your next bill out by 30 days when they start a paid Family plan. Limit: three free months per account, lifetime.
We may suspend the referral programme (or the account) if your referrals predominantly cancel within the refund window, or if we otherwise have reasonable cause to believe the programme is being abused. Free months already pushed onto your bill at the time of suspension are not clawed back.
5. Subscriptions, billing & cancellation
The Free plan is — well, free. The Family plan is billed monthly in £ (GBP) via your chosen payment provider. You can cancel anytime in your account settings; cancellation stops the next renewal. If you cancel mid-cycle, you keep access until the end of the paid period. We don't offer pro-rated refunds for partial months unless required by consumer law.
6. Our content & intellectual property
The MathBuns name, logo, mascots (Numi, Sumi, Hooti, Quizi, Plodi, Doubli, Snoozi, Halfi and friends), questions, illustrations, copy, and software are owned by us or our licensors. You may use them as part of normal app use; you may not copy, redistribute, or build derivative products from them without our written permission.
7. Your content
You keep ownership of anything you submit (e.g. feedback, bug reports). By submitting it, you grant us a non-exclusive licence to use it to operate and improve MathBuns.
8. Availability & changes
We aim to keep MathBuns available 24/7, but sometimes we need to do maintenance or roll out fixes. We may also change features or content from time to time. We'll let you know about anything significant by email or in-app notice.
9. Liability
MathBuns is provided "as is" for educational practice. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we're not liable for indirect or consequential losses. Nothing in these Terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or anything else that can't lawfully be limited. Your statutory rights as a consumer are not affected.
10. Ending the agreement
You can stop using MathBuns and delete your account at any time. We may close accounts that breach these Terms, with notice where reasonable.
11. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and any disputes will be handled by the courts of England and Wales.
12. Changes to these Terms
If we make meaningful changes, we'll email you at least 14 days before they take effect. Continuing to use MathBuns after that means you accept the updated Terms.
